Carol Emmanuel Yunior Rikin
Business, design, and a new chapter in Glasgow.

Hi, I’m Carol Emmanuel Yunior Rikin, and I’m from Indonesia. You can call me Carol.

I study International Management and Design Innovation through the ITB–University of Glasgow double degree programme, with learning across the Business School and the Glasgow School of Art.

Since arriving, I’ve experienced enrolment uncertainty, timetable clashes, and the familiar question: “Who should I actually ask?” I’m standing because these everyday things deserve attention.

I bring an international perspective, curiosity, and a practical approach: listen carefully, ask the right questions, and follow through.

Less friction.
More student life.

Three priorities grounded in the things
that shape our days at university.

01

Less chasing.
Clearer answers.

Finding the right information shouldn’t feel like another assignment.

What I’ll work towards

I’ll work with class representatives and staff to raise recurring problems with timetables, course information, and learning resources, and ask for clearer routes to support.

02

Feedback with
a follow-up.

Speaking up should be the start of a conversation, not the end of it.

What I’ll work towards

I’ll share updates on concerns raised, explain what is progressing and what is still unresolved, and keep following up with the people who can help.

03

More reasons to
know each other.

Our connections should go beyond the next group assignment.

What I’ll work towards

I’ll support opportunities to meet across programmes, exchange practical advice, and help students feel part of the Business School community.

MY APPROACH

Listen carefully. Raise it with the right people. Keep you in the loop.

I can’t promise every outcome. I can promise to take your concerns seriously.

The case for
a better everyday.

We study good management. We should experience it, too.

I’m Carol Emmanuel Yunior Rikin, studying International Management and Design Innovation through the ITB–University of Glasgow double degree programme. I’m running for Business School Representative because everyday frustrations deserve attention.

Since arriving, I’ve faced enrolment uncertainty, timetable clashes, and confusion about whom to contact. These things matter when you’re trying to settle in and keep up with classes.

My priorities are simple:

Less chasing, clearer answers. I’ll work with class representatives and staff to address recurring problems with timetables, course information, and learning resources.

Feedback with a follow-up. When you raise a concern, you deserve to know what happens next. I’ll share updates on progress and keep pushing unresolved issues.

More reasons to know each other. I’ll support opportunities to connect across programmes, exchange practical advice, and build friendships beyond group assignments.

I bring an international perspective, curiosity, and a practical approach to solving problems. I’ll listen carefully, ask questions, and follow through.

A few things
worth knowing.

What does a Business School Representative do?

A School Representative supports class representatives, identifies concerns affecting students across the School, and raises them through the relevant School committees. It’s about representing students and working with staff—not deciding policy alone.

Is this an official University or SRC website?

No. This is Carol Rikin’s independent campaign website. It is not endorsed by, or affiliated with, the University of Glasgow or Glasgow University Students’ Representative Council. Use the official SRC website for nomination rules, eligibility and voting.

Can I vote or endorse through this website?

Voting and formal nomination endorsements follow the official SRC process. You can leave a campaign support message in the conversation space, but it does not count as a formal endorsement or vote.

How will you deal with issues you can’t fix yourself?

I’ll help identify the right route, raise recurring concerns with class representatives and staff, and follow up. I’ll be honest about what is within the role and what needs another team’s help.

What informed this campaign?

My own student experience comes first. I also looked at published 2025 SRC candidate manifestos: Rosie Liu’s proposed progress updates, Zeynep Kilic’s proposed feedback channels, and Abdulrahman Al Ansari’s emphasis on student integration. These are examples of campaign proposals, not claims about results or endorsements of my campaign.
